Systems Analyst/Technical Business Analyst

Our clients a global education software as a service firm is looking for a smart, self driven, and a critical thinker System Analyst.

Task and Responsibilities:

- Define, analyze, and resolve software application issues;
- Validates software testing results
- Investigate root cause of software application issues 
- Interact with software developers, QA Engineers, Business Analysts, and BAs to understand software module interdependencies
- Providing user support as required
- Become an expert on application functionality  
- Understand the ‘4 hats’ that a System Analyst may wear in order to best execute the role:
    - Engineering (translating needs into requirements that can be executed upon, understand at a high level the ‘how’)
    - QA (ability to test to ensure that requirements have been met and new issues not introduced)
    - Product Owner (be able to understand the business need, the ‘what’ and the ‘why’)
    - Project Manager (what are the dependencies, what is the critical path, how can we keep the team focused)

Requirements:

- Bachelor degree in Information Technology field or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience working as a system analyst 
- Technical skills (examples: SQL, Splunk, APIs, JQuery) (we need to have a ‘working’ knowledge to communicate with the engineers, but not necessarily write code)
- Agile experience
- Business skills/knowledge (need to be able to understand the business need and capable of translating business need/desire into requirements)
- Collaboration experience
- Software Integration experience
- Solid working experience working with web applications
- Ability to learn quickly
- Team working skills
- Good interpersonal and client-handling skills, with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical details
- Critical thinking and experience in complex problem-solving skills
- Must be able to think creatively to investigate and solve software issues by leveraging the expertise of other software engineers staff on the team
